It has been a pleasure for Mosquito Massala to do the Visual Curations for Boxout Events.

Auro and Summer House Cafe and many other venues have become synonymous as the new playgrounds for these underground sounds.

Mosquito Massala has been creating and curating, and playing here; VJing and Projection Mapping for a variety of events; 

from the Launch Party with Romare and Dualist Inquiry; to Studio sessions celebrating Synth City; 

to the launch of Lacuna's Strains EP and Profound's Dream Journal LP; 

to all time favourites, Boxout Wednesdays!

Boxout has an artist roster that is as epic as it is diverse!

From Su Real, Swaggamuffin, Drum Attic, Rohan Kale, Kaleekarma, Sunara & Asvajit,

During the Boxout Events, time-to-time, Mosquito Massala VJ's could open the console

for the wanderers looking to be active differently during the party. And so started a cycle of Educational Workshops.

It was very natural, when a weekly happening that is Boxout Wednesdays, became a classroom of sorts,

where new VJs could learn and practice in real time. 

Looking to create a larger discussion about visuals amongst artists and technicians, 

we saw the audience become more visually conscious as well,

as they stopped requesting the VJs for "Punjabi songs",

and instead opened themselves up to the experience of curated and live VJing

and began to have more unique requests such as "can you play that horse visual again!" or "can you play that geometric pyramid again!"

The intimate space created a vibe more convivial to artists and audience alike, where storytelliing through sound and light could be explored in a more active manner.

Another amazing happening, is the wonderful collaborations of Boxout.FM with a host of very talented Graphic Designers.

Sijya Gupta has been making a beautiful study out of Text Animations of many of the artists.

And her renderings have become a staple part of the Logo Projections during gigs.
